Azzurrini in ombra a Szczyrk

La medaglia di bronzo di Desirè Rossetto nei 40 kg del 14° EJU Top Cadet Tournament U17 Olympic Hopes “Beskidy 2009” che si è disputato nella Sports Hall COS di Szczyrk (POL) è rimasta l’unica per l’Italia U17 guidata da Raffaele Toniolo. Nessuna delle cinque azzurre impegnate nella seconda giornata di gare infatti, è riuscita ad avvicinarsi alla zona podio, rimanendo tutte imbrigliate nelle fasi preliminari. Cristina Piccin e Marie Noelle Kamano sono state sconfitte al primo turno dei 57 kg con Szymczak (POL) e Mirus (POL), entrambe nelle battute conclusive del rispettivo incontro, mentre nei 63 kg Elisa Cittaro è stata eliminata dalla russa Loseva per una sanzione ed Elena Battaiotto, dopo la vittoria su Kubikova (CZE), ha subito lo shido decisivo a 10” dal termine con Merlet (FRA), alla fine terza. Giulia Zuliani ha superato il primo turno dei 70 kg con Korzystka (POL), per fermarsi poi con la tedesca Schneider. “A questo punto – ha detto Raffaele Toniolo – attendiamo l’ultima prova del Grand Prix a Messina per decidere la squadra per gli Europei a Capodistria e per l’Eyof a Tampere.
